Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby seem to be doing everything together these days. The newlywed, singer-songwriter duo is releasing their first album together, on the famed London-based Stiff Records label. Their international tour will be making a stop in Merced, California, at the Multicultural Arts Center on Thursday, September 4, thanks to local promoters NightLight Arts. Wreckless Eric, is an original Stiff Records recording artist from the days of New Wave luminaries Ian Dury, Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe. His 1978 debut single "(I'd Go The) Whole Wide World," has since been covered by many bands, and enjoyed a surge of popularity when featured in the romantic comedy Stranger Than Fiction starring Will Ferrell and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Amy Rigby is an accomplished American singer-songwriter with musical roots in New York, during the famed CBGB hey-day, and in Nashville, where she lived before moving to France and shacking up with Wreckless Eric.
